and the work goes on

It has been a few days since I have posted.Washington D.C. was beautiful. I would like to go and acutally get to sight see some....  During that time I have worked on my power point, improving it and learning how to hide my sound link, make it start automatically, and to make the background of pictures to match the background of the slide.  I have finally managed to download my pictures from my phone and have posted a couple on my wiki.  I have also completed my wordl and my short picture video.  I did two of those.  I used pictures of my former classes.  I really like that site.  I would have used that when I was teaching.  Now I am going to get back to work on the rest of the assignments.... wish me luck.

stuff

Well today was a busy day.  I had meetings all day, but the view and the food was good.  Came back to the hotel room, took a nap, then started working on homework.  I worked on my Wordl, improved my powerpoint presentation (I hope I did anyways), worked on my wiki some and now I am blogging.  I am learning alot, but there is so much to learn!!! I took some pictures of the Potomac river, which is right outside our room window and am going to attempt to add it so you can all see our wonderful view.....
ok. didnt work and I am about to have to pay more money if i stay on line any longer today.. so until my next chance to try that again. have a great day!

Washington DC

Sorry I havent been on in a bit. Been busy tyring to get the homework done, succeeded at some, some not, and get everything ready for my trip to DC.  I am here for a conference.  Spent all day yesterday in the airport, the day before getting the house, my kiddos (the dogs) and my baggage prepared.  Then signed on last night to see that I had missed an assignment.  I am on a break from meetings and trying to figure out what to do.  None of the ppt files submited are opening for  me.  they just get stuck in a loop and shut my computer down.  so I guess I will try without examples.  wish me luck!! I feel like such an antique when I am having difficulty figuring all this stuff out.  and I wonder how much I will be able to use with the current firewalls at school.  I have had to use my home computer for everything thus far, becuase my work one wont let me....... I think the idea of using these programs to teach is wonderful, I just wonder how long it will be before the schools can create a safe way to allow us to use them...
we are on the Potomoc river. beautiful.  It sprinkled today.  I had forgotten what rain  looked like, it had been so long since I have seen it!!!! I will add a pic as soon as I can figure out how from my phone.  I tried sending to facebook and myself an email, but niether seem to have worked... guess I need to get the book out..

Wednesday

Wednesday and I have been working on my webpage.  I have submitted it twice and I just hope it worked.  I am going to try to post what it looks like here, so at least some one can see it, even if they cant interact with it....

I am leaving early tomorrow and wont be back till late, so I wont be able to work on it at all tomorrow.  I will be back on Thursday to try to catch up.....

Sunday

Worked on my Wiki today.  It was a rough day.  locked myself out of the house, then fell and banged myself up climbing the fence to get in the back yard to get back in.  My two labs were NO help at all! Now I am soar and nursing a cut up knee.  At least I can still type........ The web site says that there is a change in the calendar, but wont let me pull up the calendar. guess I will try it again later....

cloud?

I overlooked the cloud thing.  Panic!! I am having a hard time figuring all of this out, then finding ways to create my own.  When I went to look up the cloud links to see what that is, I hit a wall, a fire wall.  The WFISD district locks out so much stuff!  Seems like two out of every three things I look up are blocked.  I will have to wait and do this from home, after work.....

Well, it is Tuesday of Week two of class.  I am trying to understand the Wiki concept.  I have read some of the examples on line and they sound wonderful.. I am just unsure what to put on mine.  It looks like a place to consolidate information.  I am unsure what information I have to consolidate.  But I will continue on and I will get this figured out. eventually.......

My very first blog ever

This is the first time I have ever blogged.  I am a Degital Immigrant and have not felt comfortable putting my personal business out there on the internet.  If it wasnt for this class, I am sure I would not have one now.  However, I recognize that it is important to understand the workings of blogs to better be able to relate to my students.  I need to understand the workings, benefits, and dangers associated with blogs.  I hope to learn much while fullfilling the requirments of this course and hopefuly find tools that I will use as well as enjoy and use to enhance my own life.
